Festive Carvery Evening

***** 5 Star Rating

A must-see, the stunning Christmas lights✨💫 invite you in, go inside the décor is fabulous the Christmas trees🎄 and candy canes are special, the reception staff were so helpful & accommodating, made to feel so welcome by all the staff. Especially Cathy the waitress. On arrival we could not believe our eyes at the size of the Christmas Carvery platter for 6 people, £10 per head, no pressure covid safe, Absolutely Brilliant this is our second visit in 2 months, and we will be back, Great offers on food

Highly recommend – if you haven’t been give it a try !

Following a recommendation off a friend I visited with my family bubble for a meal. Booked in advance over the phone and receptionist was helpful. Everywhere spotlessly clean and tables well-spaced out. Covid guidelines followed helping us feel reassured and safe. We all had different meal choices, and all were delicious. Ryan working in the bar is friendly and efficient. We often visit another nearby restaurant, but from now on Park Hotel is where we will go as prices noticeably cheaper, all round service is high, and food consistently good.

Credit to David and team for looking after us all so well, Thank you .see you soon !

So this is the 1st time we have visited the restaurant for a meal. What a brilliant night and meal – absolutely loved it! David and Ryan outstanding service, highly recommend. The roast dinner was gorgeous, loads of succulent turkey – so nice!

Sunday lunch

***** 5 Star Rating

I felt I had to write a review as we went for Sunday lunch (it was that good the week before). The food was amazing, and the restaurant was very covid safe. But the staff were brilliant especially David as he looked after us nothing was too much trouble 😊 would recommend this place.

Why Oh Why isn’t this restaurant full. Its a Gem! Evening Meal

***** 5 Star Rating

Just come home after having a meal in the restaurant at the Park Hotel, really don’t understand why there are not more people eating there.

Having lived locally for over forty years I have never really thought of using the Hotel as a restaurant. The food whilst the menu is not extensive for a Hotel, we were informed because of social distancing they cannot have many staff in the kitchen, which is fair comment. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, plenty of had sanitisers dotted around. Our temperatures were taken before being seated. When guests had left their tables they too were sanitised.

Five of us had a meal booked for 6.00 pm, upon arrival had a drink in the bar then moved on to the restaurant. We found out the Hotel was carrying on the “Eat Out to Help Out” offer until the end of September. This made a huge difference to what we thought we would have to pay.

Our starters consisted of homemade Leek and Potato Soup, Potato Rosti and Black pudding Stack, Creamy Garlic Mushrooms Vegetable Spring Rolls and Salmon and Chive Cake. We all sent our compliments back to the kitchen because they were all beautifully cooked and piping hot.

Our mains where just as well cooked and delicious. Tell you what the Chef really knows how to cook buttered carrots. You may scoff, but that is an achievement in my book. Well Done You!!! There are not many chefs who can!!

We were all so full, we could not eat another morsel.

All the staff we met where extremely friendly, polite and professional.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone thinking of eating out, take advantage of the offer that is available Monday to Friday until the end of September. Support Local Business.

Lunch -you won’t need an evening meal

***** 5 Star Rating

The outside of the hotel is a bit un-inspiring- but as I’ve lived nearby most of my life added to the fact that I ate lunch here twice last year I had an idea what we were in for.

We were not disappointed. Only two other people in the bar area (haven’t sampled the restaurant yet) when we called in.

We both ordered club sandwich (choice of bread) which came with the chunkiest of chips, salad and coleslaw. Food delicious and enormous portion. In fact we didn’t even bother with dinner this evening because we were so full.

Duty manager (sorry forgotten her name) was very friendly and attentive and happily provided menus for their restaurant so we could have a look. meals including Sunday lunches -very reasonably priced. Definitely going to book for that.

Lunch plus 3 soft drinks and 2 coffees-less than £25. A very enjoyable lunch and well worth the visit.
